One of the best compliments I get from clients is that they feel like they've known me forever. I have met so many incredible humans because of this career and I still cannot believe my art allows me to create heirlooms for others. I thought I'd tell my story here as it speaks to my style of photography and who you hire to capture your memories! I grew up in a small rural community west of Slave Lake. My favourite part of growing up in a rural area were the animals and nature that surrounded me. You wouldn't often find me in a classroom or at social functions. I preferred to be outdoors with my pets/animals on some sort of adventure. My current achievable dream would be to photograph a family or wedding portrait session on a family farm surrounded by horses or cattle..maybe a chicken or two! After high school I worked as an Educational Assistant. That is where I discovered that children could be just as entertaining and wonderful as my friends on the farm. I adore the wild and untamed part of their spirits. I often encourage playfulness and adventure in my family sessions and that is where the magic happens! Adventures awaited and I soon found myself flying to Puerto Rico. This time I found a husband and not a furry critter to bring home.. he rolls his eyes when I say that haha. After living the island life, we decided Canada was where we wanted to raise our children. With that, Jonathan and I came to Canada and we started our journey as parents. This is where my passion for photography came to light! I of course had to capture those squishy cheeks my son Jake was born with! Soon James and his infectious toothy grin came, followed by Elizabeth and her sass. Every moment was captured and the passion was born! I was juggling babies while also starting my business and my dream. I'd call myself a life photographer.. Sometimes my journey with you begins with a Wedding which in turn sometimes leads to a maternity photoshoot.. newborn session and then every year we are photographing your family session! Its truly an honor seeing your families grow and I look forward to every session we have! Thanks for getting to know me and allowing me to get to know you all! Brooke
